Our Associates The professional development of our associates is a critical measure of our success. Associates enjoy a variety of training opportunities, including an orientation series and firmwide retreat for our newest associates to introduce them to the firm's resources and administration. Associates attend firmwide training programs plus monthly office and firmwide training meetings based around specific practice groups. The firmwide and office-specific Associates Committees work to facilitate communication between associates and firm management. Finally, we are pleased to offer a mentoring program that pairs each new associate with both a senior associate and a partner. These and other related programs are coordinated by the Professional Development staff. Our Summer Associates Our summer associate program is designed to give students a realistic view of working at Stoel Rives, while at the same time allowing summer associates to get to know attorneys at all levels throughout the firm. Summer associates have the opportunity to work in all our practice group areas and with different lawyers. They are invited to focus on projects within their particular areas of legal interest; attend strategy sessions, contract negotiations, closings and board meetings; draft documents; write briefs; and help prepare for depositions, trials and arbitrations. All summer associates are assigned mentors who provide advice on the firm's resources and opportunities and provide feedback throughout the summer.
