Senior Engineer/Program Director

Description:

ERM is seeking a motivated Senior Engineer/Program Director, with consulting experience and private-sector client relationships, to play a key role in our Contaminated Site Management (CSM) practice in Bellevue, WA. The successful candidate will work on site investigation, remediation, and environmental compliance projects at refinery, redevelopment, mining, military and manufacturing sites in the Pacific Northwest and globally.

As a senior leader, you will contribute your leadership, business development, and technical consulting skills to grow ERM’s business and client base in the Pacific Northwest, while networking with ERM's global CSM practice team and technology experts to share best practices across the industry. Duties:

Work with local Partners in growing ERM’s Pacific Northwest client base across the CSM service lines [e.g., Brownfields redevelopment, site investigation and remediation, risk assessment, environmental construction management, site closure and decommissioning].
Identify and develop new project opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take active leadership role in developing new business with new and existing clients.
Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business.
Book $300,000 to $500,000+ in new consulting services annually.

Manage and provide technical expertise on site investigation and remediation projects for a variety of clients with complex technical/regulatory issues in the mining, oil & gas, transportation, and other manufacturing sectors.
Design remedial solutions for contaminated soil and ground water, using innovative and emerging remedial treatment technologies as well as traditional systems.
Oversee multiple projects within client’s scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverable.
Appropriately delegate project assignments to project teams and mentor junior staff.
Coordinate with ERM offices in the US, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and Latin America regions on national and international project delivery.

Develop a working understanding of ERM’s other consulting practice areas and actively support cross-selling these services to existing clients [EHS compliance assurance, M&A transaction support, environmental impact assessment planning, and sustainability & climate change].

Manage and provide technical expertise on engineering-related projects, such as SPCC plans, tank integrity evaluations, industrial storm water and wastewater assessments and plans, and air quality evaluations to meet client compliance assurance and operations needs.

Support the general growth and development of ERM’s international Contaminated Site Management practice.

Communicate effectively with clients, ERM employees, and vendors.

Qualifications:

BS/MS in engineering (civil, chemical, mechanical, environmental); Washington State professional engineer license.
10+ years consulting experience working with significant industrial clients on complex site investigation/remediation projects under a variety of state, federal, and international regulatory structures (e.g., CERCLA and the Washington MTCA). Experience with contaminated sediments is strongly desired.
Proven business development experience for large programs/contracts and client relationships supported by repeat business, including established contacts in Pacific Northwest.
Consistent "seller/doer" track record of delivering annual sales of at least $300,000 (net revenue).
Excellent writing, communication, strategic thinking, and “people” skills.
Advanced knowledge of the local regulatory climate, with proven negotiation skills with state and local regulators.
Recognized technical expertise by and established reputation in the local marketplace.
